So, today is the last day of November. All of you writers who participated in National Novel Writing Month, this is it. The Last Hurrah.

How are you doing? Maybe you've finished all ready? Maybe, like me, you have under 1500 words to go and you've reached your goal? Maybe you stalled out early on and fell badly?

If the later happened to you, don't feel badly. I mean it. At least you set a goal and made an attempt to make your writing dreams come true. Now use this month as a jumping off point to continue on your writing path.

While I'm on the subject, now is the time to start thinking about your writing goals for 2015 so by the end of December you have a clear picture of them in your mind and concrete, fail proof plan to set in action.

As I said before, I have under 1500 words to write to reach my goal and wrap up my WIP. I will finish today! If you participated, how did you do?

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Here is my third and final grouping of Thanksgiving decor. The plate holding the candy corn says 'Count Your Blessings'.

So today I will:

My faith
My family
My friends

What blessings are you 'counting' this year?

Giving Thanks

This is my second grouping of Thanksgiving decor. I've had the bear figurines for years. I bought them from a Home Interior party about (gulp) thirty one years ago. They were my first Thanksgiving decorations and our son loved to rearrange them on the living room coffee table.

The pumpkin, I received as a gift from my Secret Sister in ESA one year and love it. Why? Because it is a great reminder of what this season is about. Giving thanks to God for the bounty in our lives!

So, tell me, readers, have I dated myself talking about Home Interior products? Did you go to Home Interior parties and do you still have an decorations you purchased from one?

Remembering Thanksgiving

"Thanksgiving is a forgotten holiday." I hear this a lot anymore from various people. So for the next three weeks, I'll share a picture of my Thanksgiving decorations. This weeks picture is of the centerpiece on my dining room table.

I have three decoration groupings for Thanksgiving. No, not nearly as much as my Christmas decorations. And to be honest, I have some Christmas shopping done, I'm ready to listen to Christmas music and put up my Christmas decorations.

But here is something else you need to know, I'm not glossing over Thanksgiving. I just try to be thankful every day of the year. Even on stressful work days or disappointing days, I'm thankful that I have job, home, food, family, well you get the drift.

And another fun fact about me is: I think about Christmas all year and it has nothing to do with 'the commercialism' of the season. It's because it's the day we celebrate Christ's birth.

Contest Finalist

I received a nice telephone call from the Orange County Chapter of the RWA to tell me, Wedding on the Rocks placed third in their Book Buyers Best Awards for 2014. Here is my certificate and LOVELY pin that I received for the final.

I received a very bad reader review for this book and am so happy it did well in two of the contests I entered it in! If you haven't had the chance to read this book, it's still available in ebook format on most online retailers and and Amazon still show print copies left.

I've entered my 2014 books, Sweet on the Cowgirl and The Widow's Suitors in two contests all ready. I'll be entering them in a third contest by the end of this week, and at least two more contests next year when the contests open up for entries.

Unpublished authors are urged to enter in their work in contests for feedback. In my opinion it just as important for published authors to enter their work in contests too! What is your opinion?
