I've been blogging for over a year on myspace but have decided to dedicate a blog to those of us who write and hold down a full time job.

My hope is to post daily with tips for other working writer's on how to fit writing into their schedule, provide guest bloggers on the same topic and how to's advice on making your writing time a priority.

I hope you'll join me on this journey and I welcome suggestions along the way.

  1. Hi, Rose. I saw your comment on the Barbour blog today. Currently, Barbour is only acquiring for Christmas-themed anthologies. They stopped acquiring non-Christmas themed anthologies, maybe, a couple of years ago?

I see your blog is about not quitting your day job. I wrote 3 books for Barbour within roughly a year's time. Currently, I'm not under contract for anything. I do know, as far as working full-time and writing is concerned, I'm more seriously devoted to writing when I'm contracted for a novel. I make myself get out of bed very early and work on it in the evenings, too, when I have a deadline. If there's no deadline, I still write, but I write at my leisure. Things don't get done as quickly, but, when you don't have a deadline to meet, and you have familial obligations, it's hard to make the writing a high priority!

I do book giveaways every month on my blog. You should stop by and comment if interested in winning, that is, if you haven't already done so!:
